Nowadays, interest in electric propulsion is increasing due to the need decarbonize society. Electric drives and their components play a key role this electrification trend. The electrical machine, particular, seeing an ever-increasing development extensive research currently being dedicated improvement of its efficiency torque/power density. Among winding methods, hairpin technologies are gaining attention inherently high slot fill factor, good heat dissipation, strong rigidity, short end-winding length. These features make windings potential candidate for some traction applications which require power and/or torque densities. However, they also have drawbacks, such as losses at frequency operations skin proximity effects. In paper, multi-objective design optimization proposed aiming provide fast useful tool enhance exploitation technology machines. Efficiency volume density considered main objectives. Analytical finite element evaluations performed support methodology.
